New to Empower FCU?

If you are new to Empower FCU, you become a member when your loan is funded.  

Membership Share Savings 

Every Member has a Membership Share Account that offers the benefits of a savings account.  You can easily deposit funds into your share savings account to make your loan payment.   

Next Steps at the Dealership

Here's a quick checklist to set you off right:

  1. Verify The Email Address on Your Documents: Our first contact with you will be via email.  We don’t want you to miss it!  
  2. Select ‘Automatic Payments’ on The Payment Source Form: We’ll set up the automatic transfer for you with your instructions. 
  3. Choose GAP Insurance: Opt in for a one-time fee of $300, which will be included in your monthly payment. If your vehicle is totaled or stolen and your insurance payout is less than your remaining loan balance, GAP may help cover the difference.  You can also contact a loan officer at 315-728-5399 to discuss your options.

Once your loan is funded, you can expect an email or packet from us that includes details on your loan account information, required documents, and access to Online Banking.

Manage Your Accounts Online 

Manage your loan anytime through Digital Banking. View balances, make payments, set up alerts, link external accounts, and schedule recurring transfers.

How to Set Up Loan Payment Alerts 
Set up payment reminders and notifications in just a few simple steps:

Access Online Banking or the Empower FCU Mobile App.

Select More (...) > Accounts in Online Banking, or Settings in the mobile app.

Select Alerts, then choose the loan account from the dropdown menu.

Locate the alert you'd like to receive and toggle it on.

Choose your alert options and preferred delivery method.

Review your selections and save your changes.
Insurance Requirements 
Find insurance requirements and loss payee information for your vehicle loan.

  • Collision coverage required
  • Comprehensive coverage required
  • Maximum deductible of $1,000 per coverage
  • Coverage must remain active for the full loan term
