Scholarship Opportunities 


We are committed to helping our members realize their educational goals.  Empower FCU sponsored scholarships are available in the fall to college-bound high school seniors.  The student applicant must be the primary member on an account at Empower Federal Credit Union.  


Applications are due by January 15, 2027.

 

Note: You must be a member of Empower Federal Credit Union.  If you are not currently a member please stop by your local branch, apply for a membership online, or call 800.462.5000 to learn how to join. 


Thank you for your interest in our scholarship program, offered in partnership with the New York Credit Union Association. Please review the following instructions carefully before completing your application.

Before starting your application, contact Empower FCU to obtain your scholarship verification code. You will need this code to verify your eligibility and complete the application. Please call 800.462.5000 to retrieve your code. 

  1. Complete and save the scholarship application form. Please use only the space provided on the form to answer the questions. Other than where specified on the application form, no attachments, resumes, pictures, or other materials should be submitted.
  2. You and your parent or guardian must sign the Certification and Release Authorization on the back page of the application form.
  3. Submit your application online by January 15, 2027 via the New York Credit Union Association Scholarship Microsite.
  4. Upload the following as three separate files (PDF, Word, or JPG formats only; Google Docs will not be accepted): Scholarship Application, High School Transcript (grades 9-11) AND Essay Response.
  5. The application includes fields for "Nominee" and "Nominated By." Students should enter their own name and email address in both sections.

Important Notes

  • Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • Applicants must be a primary member of Empower Federal Credit Union and a college-bound high school senior.
  • If you are not currently a member, visit your local branch, apply online, or call 800.462.5000 to learn how to join.
  • A scholarship verification code from Empower FCU is required to complete the application. Contact your local branch to obtain your code before beginning the application process.
  • Online application submissions are due by January 15, 2027.


To qualify: *Membership Eligibility Required. You must be a primary member of Empower Federal Credit Union and a college-bound high school senior. If you are not currently a member, please call Empower Federal Credit Union to learn how to join. Empower Federal Credit Union Scholarship code is needed to apply. Contact your local branch to get the code. The application asks for Nominee and Nominated by - students will need to input their OWN name and email address for both sections.  

Online application submission deadline is January 15, 2027.
